The season of glitz and glamour got off to a flying start with last night’s Golden Globes. The hottest stars in Hollywood took to the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and they certainly didn’t disappoint.

From classic A List waves to elegant updos, there was an array of show-stopping hairstyles on parade from some of our favourite stars. Our artistic team, The Edge, case their expert eyes over the evening’s looks and have singled out a few of the best…

Jessica Chastain led the way in channelling the starlets of Hollywood’s golden era with cascading glossy curls that could give Marilyn Monroe a run for her money. To recreate the look, prep hair using DESIGNLINE Texture Balance Liquid Shine to help the curls set. Blow dry your locks before creating a strong side parting then curl 1-2 inch sections using the ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong starting from the back of the head working round to the front, curling up to the cheekbone. Once cool, brush through the curls using a paddle brush for a luxurious, consistent wave and smooth down using the Wella SP Luxe Oil.

This look is so popular because it’s incredibly flattering and works on most hair lengths too. Shorter-haired ladies should take inspiration from Girls’ Allison Williams: blast hair dry using a diffuser before using a ghd Curve styler to curl random sections.

Other looks we loved included Joanne Froggatt’s romantic halo braid. To get the look, split your hair into two sections before French plaiting the left side, working from the back to your forehead and secure with a hair elastic before pinning into place. Start the right-hand side plait from the top of your head (where the left plait left off) and plait down towards the back of your head and secure. For an extra textured finish, work some KMS California Hair Play Sea Salt Spray through dry locks before you begin.

Rosamund Pike nailed the sleek and sophisticated look with her poker straight asymmetrical bob. If you fancy stealing her cut, pop into your local Regis salon for a consultation with one of our expert stylists. Styling this look couldn’t be easier: prep towel-dried tresses with TIGI Straighten Out Straightening Cream before blow drying then run through the ghd IV Classic styler for a smooth, frizz-free finish.

These are just a selection of many fabulous looks from the awards. Whose are you most coveting? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter.
