Style Watch: Emmy Awards 2016
On the night that Game Of Thrones broke the record for the highest number of Emmy Awards, the style on the red carpet was also something to celebrate. From bejewelled gowns to statement hair and makeup, the stars of the world’s biggest TV shows gave us a lot to lust over. Read on to discover our favourite looks from the night.
Natural beauty Emilia kept her look understated but flawless in a champagne coloured, strapless Atelier Versace gown. The Game Of Thrones actress kept her makeup simple, with a subtle smoky eye and her brows as famously bold as usual. Once again, we’re also reminded not to underestimate how effective a simple, chic bun can be for a glamorous occasion. For a similar look, take a peek at our elegant knotted chignon tutorial.
One of the most talked-about dresses of the night was certainly Kristen Bell’s stunning gown, designed by Zuhair Murad. The full-skirt dress had a delicate floral pattern, adding to the overall look that exuded femininity. Opting for simple silver accessories, Kristen also kept her hair simple. A long bob is one of the must-have styles for this season, so we give top marks to the actress for this choppy ‘do.
A veteran of the red carpet, Heidi Klum opted for full on glamour in a sequined Michael Kors dress. The model pushed her caramel coloured hair behind her shoulders, ensuring all the focus was on the asymmetric, cut-out detailing of the gown.
On the night,Sarah Paulson picked up the Best Actress Emmy for her role in The People Vs OJ Simpson – and we’re sure she’s also topped many lists for the best dressed. Her jewel-encrusted Prada dress was most certainly a head-turner, as was her edgy shorter hair style. With one side of her hair cut very close to the head, Sarah left the other side longer for a sweeping statement fringe. This style perfectly flatters her oval face, while the long earrings elongate her neck.
Known for her fiery red hair, Sophie Turner debuted her new blonde locks over the summer – and nobody can deny how much it suits the Game Of Thrones beauty. Opting for a loose braid that was secured with a clashing black hairtie, Sophie embraced a grungier look than many other attendees with a semi-sheer black gown.
