Kate Winslet at the Titanic 3D Premiere

Titanic, a film we all know and love, has been re-released in stunning 3D to coincide with the centenary of the ship’s launch in April 1910. The 1997 film was, at the time, the most expensive film ever made and grossed almost £2billion at the box-office. Starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio, Titanic 3D had it’s ‘premiere’ last night at the Royal Albert Hall in London and whilst the red carpet was sadly missing Leo, the other stars were out to be papped, including Billy Zane, Bill Paxton and director James Cameron. Star of the show naturally was Kate herself.

Here’s what our very own Anna Till, colour educator at our Brent Cross salon and member of the Regis Artistic Team, had to say…

‘She looks stunning. Very 1940’s-inspired style. Her soft golden blonde mixed with a cool ash blonde is very on trend right now, and just launched is the new Color Touch Shade 8/38 from Wella Professionals. With delicate hues of Soft Champagne, Muted Gold and Sandstone this new colour is from the ‘Grace’ trend now available in all Regis salons and will be massive over the summer months. I think blondes are definitely having a moment!

To recreate Kate’s 40’s style I would use Regis Designline volume mousse blow dry with a medium round brush to create fullness and bounce. Then use a heat protector and use straightening irons to create curls. Or you could use a medium-sized tong or wand. All these appliances will create the curl and wave needed. Brush out then loosely pin back leaving the fringe out with the wave. To finish use Designline volume spray for a firm hold. Then to give it the premiere-feel use a bit of shine spray. A great look for a night out!’

So, if you’re looking to recreate Kate’s gorgeous vintage style for your very own party, or just to shine on the town on a weekend, pop into your nearest Regis salon where our talented and expert stylists can give you the kind of vintage look you see on Kate Winslet here. Alternatively, pop into the Brent Cross salon and book your appointment with Anna.
