Oscar Hair: 84th Academy Awards
The Artist last night came out on top and swept up five Oscars at the 84th Academy Awards. The silent film won Best Picture ahead of the likes of The Descendants, Moneyball and The War Horse amongst others. Director Michel Hazanavicius and star Jean Dujardin also took home the big awards too. Other winners on the night included Meryl Streep for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, as well as Woody Allen for Best Original Screenplay and Rango for Best Animated Feature.
On the red carpet we saw all manner of winners…
“Gwyneth Paltrow looked stunning in her futuristic-style dress”, said Regis Artistic Team member Jayne Dempsey. “Her soft, blonde hair styled in a simple and loose ponytail gathered gently at the nape, complimented her dress, which is an unusual style for her. The futuristic look will be hot on-trend this Summer and we’re loving the style and glamour Gwyneth exudes here”.
Chris Tilley, a Regis Artistic Team member from our Trafford Centre salon, said, “I loved Michelle Williams‘s short, warm blonde hair and I thought it complimented her red peplum dress quite brilliantly. She showed that short hair can look fabulous on the red carpet. I also loved Rooney Mara, dressed all in white, who as always looked stunning with her sharp fringe and she made her Givenchy dress look edgy and current. Octavia Spencer, actress in The Help, looked radient with a slick fringe and volume at the crown.”
“Lots of men are following the trend of having swept back hair this year. Brad Pitt, Jean Dujardin and my favourite Gary Oldman (who has had an amazing year for good movies) were leading the way for facial hair too!”
