Creating The Edge – Glasgow Heat

Last night saw the launch of our Creating The Edge competition, seeing the best and most innovative stylists from across Regis UK Ltd showing us their most creative work. With the chance to represent their brands at the Wella TrendVision Awards up for grabs, the competition started as fiercely as we’d hoped in Glasgow last night.

Taking inspiration from their chosen Wella TrendVision collection, each stylist interpreted the theme in their own unique way, allowing our judges to get an insight into the vision and talents of each contestant. Judges Katie Woodman, Fiona McCracken and Guy Cammarano had their expectations surpassed by the artistry on show.

With some incredible colour palettes and techniques, the unique experimentation meant we couldn’t choose just one winner in the colour category, instead awarding both Jenny Mowat of Supercuts, Buchanan Galleries and Rachel James from Regis, Jenners in Edinburgh.

Rachel and Jenny both went for their own unique takes on the cutting edge pastels and greys of the moment, incorporating movement, colours and Eastern influence from the Fusion collection.

Winner of the young talent category was Robert Stewart Taylor from Regis, Braehead. He really impressed the judges with his gothic interpretation of the fusion trend, using his love of interesting fringe shapes to add a new dimension to the style.

Thanks to all the fantastic stylists for their dedication, creative ideas and energy – what a great atmosphere from our Scottish heat, it’ll be difficult to top!
