TrendVision Awards 2016

Last week, we had another fantastic night at the annual Trend Vision Awards, hosted by Wella. Along with top class entertainment and hair inspiration, it was also an extra-special night as there was a win for team Regis! Read on for the full run-down of the amazing evening.

For 2016, Wella’s Trend Vision Awards returned the The Roundhouse, a stunning venue in Camden, East London. As always, there was plenty of speculation surrounding the top-secret host for the evening, and everyone was delighted when it was revealed that presenter Claudia Winkleman was returning for her second consecutive year hosting the show.

The glitz and glamour of TrendVision always makes for an exciting evening, but there was additional buzz for the Regis team this year as we had not one, but two stylists nominated in the prestigious Colour Vision category. Both Stephen Guest from our Portsmouth salon and Sunny Wan from Milton Keynes had competed against hundreds of hairdressers from across the UK & Ireland at the Regional Heats earlier this year to secure their positions at the UK & Ireland Final. The final saw them compete against 50 of the country’s most talented hairdressers, but both Regis stylists submitted beautiful entries that definitely stood out from the crowd.

On top of these brilliant nominations for Stephen and Sunny, our creative director Kieron Fowles was also judging the competition alongside some of the most prominent names in the hairdressing industry. As one of the most prestigious hairdressing awards in the UK, it was a huge testament to the talents of all three stylists to be recognised in their respective ways at TrendVision 2016.

Following a fabulous meal and creative, inspiring shows from some of the industry leaders, it was finally the moment we had been looking forward to all night – the awards! While the nomination is an enormous honour in itself, we were delighted when Sunny was revealed as the winner for the UK Bronze Award in the Colour Vision category! The next step for Sunny is to join the Wella Professionals TrendVision mentoring programme, learning from industry great Leonardo Rizzo from Sanrizz.

The hugely successful evening was rounded off with a performance by Fleur East and an afterparty that we hear went on til the early hours (but of course the sensible Regis team went home at a reasonable hour..!)

Once again, a huge congratulations to Stephen and Sunny!
