One of the most common questions our stylists are asked is how to create waves using ghds. You’ll be happy to know that it’s so much easier than you think, and we decided to show you exactly how to do it in our third hair tutorial for this party season. Tousled waves are glamorous but also have a laidback edge, meaning that they look just as good the next day as they did at the party.
Prepping for this look couldn’t be any easier: a few spritzes of a heat defence spray such as EIMI’s Thermal Image are all that’s needed before you begin styling. And our stylists’ top tip for achieving relaxed, tousled waves with ghds? Alternate the direction of each curl, i.e. curl the first curl away from your face and the next towards the face. This will stop the curls from looking too identical and ‘done’ – perfect for an everyday, wearable look. Take a look at our tutorial to see this technique in action with the new ghd Copper Luxe Platinum Styler.
Finish the Look
Before the party, finish your curls with a shine-enhancing spray such as Bed Head’s Headrush. For a more lived-in look the next morning, a product such as label.m Sea Salt Spray will add texture and definition that lasts.
