Style Watch: Critics’ Choice Awards 2016
The 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards took place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Sunday 17 January. From Kate Beckinsale’s stunning silver gown to Carly Chaikin’s boho fishtail braid, there were so many style highlights. Here’s just a few of ours…
Kate Beckinsale never seems to have an off day when it comes to the red carpet and last night she wowed us with a glittering, embellished Monique Lhuillier gown. She teamed her dress with equally glimmering earrings, keeping her hair elegant and understated. Her sweeping fringe was the perfect finishing touch.
Hayden Panettiere made a glamorous return to the red carpet, opting for beautifully soft curls, as did Rachel McAdams. This is a brilliant style for long bobs and mid-length hair. Watch our video for tips on how to curl short hair for a similar finish.
Super sleek ponytails were a big hit at last week’s Golden Globes and look set to dominate 2016’s awards season with Bryce Dallas Howard embracing the trend. The look works best with a high shine, poker straight finish: check out our step-by-step guide to try the style at home.
Carly Chaikin had us feeling summery with her effortless fishtail braid. Always a winner for super-long locks, fishtail plaits aren’t as hard to create as many people think. See just how simple it is in our video below.
Luscious Hollywood waves also made an appearance with Andrea Navedo keeping it classic with a deep set side parting. This is another simple to achieve hairstyle, guaranteed to add instant glamour to your look – perfect it in time for your next night out with our how to guide.
