Olympic Hair Medal Winners
The London 2012 Olympics may have come to an end, and whilst we may sulk at the prospect of waiting a whole four years for the next one, here at Regis Salons HQ we have been in search of our Olympic hair heroes of London 2012. We asked Jayne Dempsey, member of the Regis Artistic Team, for the low down on her Olympic hair medal winners…
Firstly, what an amazing two weeks it had been. Yet another reason to be proud to be British. From the opening ceremony my eyes were glued to the television. The ceremony itself was amazing and celebrated all things British, from the green fields of England through the industrial revolution, as well as the swinging sixties and beyond. The closing ceremony was just a great, with a host of famous British music stars, models and actors doing their thing. The talent on show was magnificent and really displayed to the world what Britain has to offer.
In general, the Olympic athletes looked great and we saw a beautiful style showdown. The make up was perfect and some even had their nails painted with tiny flags. The hair was also of a very high standard and I think it was great to see so many athletes with well-groomed hair. Here are my picks for Gold, Silver and Bronze…
Christine Ohuruogu (Team GB) for her beautiful braids. Christina shows us how simple yet effective braids can be, especially when doing sport.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (Jamaica) for her amazing bow accessory that match her nation’s colours.
Sanya Richards-Ross (USA) for winning Gold in the Women’s 400m and still looking every bit as gorgeous at the end. Sanya’s golden, flowing locks really rocked it for me!
Well done, girls! We can’t wait to see what delights Rio 2016 has to offer.
