Wedding Hair Inspiration

With spring fast approaching, the wedding season is just around the corner. If you’re tying the knot this year, you’ve probably already started thinking about the perfect hairstyle to complement your dream dress. Classic chignons and updos will continue to be a staple for many bridges but for those of you looking for something a little different take a look at a few of our Creative Director Kieron’s ideas to give your wedding hairstyle a modern twist…

“The key to a soft and feminine yet on-trend look is to keep it looking equal amounts effortless and sophisticated. One of my favourite bridal hairstyles at the moment is loose, tousled waves. Think slightly bohemian like Poppy Delevingne and Kate Moss chose for their weddings. To achieve the look yourself, follow these simple steps:

Step One: Spray DESIGNLINE Volumizing Mousse directly onto the roots of towel-dried hair to give a little lift and create fullness before smoothing a small amount of Moroccanoil Treatment through mid-lengths and ends to help prevent frizz.

Step Two: Blast dry using your fingers to create movement.

Step Three: Take 3-4 inch sections of hair and wrap around the ghd Curve Creative Curl Wand to create enviably textured beachy waves. For more advice on using the wand watch our how-to video.

Step Four: Gently brush through the curls to soften and blend them. Mist over Redken Quick Dry to finish.

To maximise the boho feel, play with pretty floral accessories including headbands and hair pins – ideal for a summer ceremony!

Elegant updos will remain popular but choose braids and twists over tight, super-groomed styles. Halo braids and fishtail plaits make a beautiful choice and brining loose, dishevelled braids around to one side will create an effortlessly glamorous vibe. Find our how to create the perfect fishtail plait with our video guide.
