X Factor: Live Shows Week 3
Week three of the live shows, and there’s only one thing we’re all talking about – Jade Ellis’ hair! Just when we thought the candyfloss pink look was dye-ing (get it?) out, Jade dives on to our screens absolutely nailing the look and bringing it right up to date with a chic grey tint. We’re pretty sure there’s going to be a lot of requests for icey purple and pink hair after this, so call in to your local Regis salon and let us work some Wella colour touch magic!
This week’s theme was ‘Club Classics’ and, as ever, there seemed to be quite a broad spectrum of songs. They were all certainly ‘club’, but we’re not too sure many of them lived up to the ‘classics’ part.
The most notable performance has to go to James Arthur, who absolutely turned LMFAO’s ‘Sexy And I Know It’ on its head and delivered it in his own acoustic style – it was barely recognizable and we really did love it. He’s one to watch, perhaps.
Once again, Ella Henderson wowed everyone with her rendition of Candy Staton’s ‘You’ve Got The Love’, getting everyone feeling a little Florence and the Machine. She left her hair down and flowing around her shoulders for the performance, which we think was absolutely perfect, it really made her look every inch the fresh-faced teenager she really is. They should probably just let her win the show already!
Another style-shock was Rylan, who entrusted scissor-king and X Factor hair stylist Jamie Stevens with his very well-primped beard – big mistake, Jamie brazenly shaved the whole thing off! Though we do think it was for the best, Rylan is like a new man and looks much more stylist post-makeover. Amazing what half an hour in the stylist’s chair can do! Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to improve his performance over night, we have to admit it left us wincing like Gary Barlow all the way through.
While Lucy Spraggan is in the competition, every week we’re going to be highly anticipating what she’s going to do next. Admittedly we thought at the beginning that her style might not be able to shine through in this competition, she just keeps taking it to the next level, this week with a rather beautiful rendition of David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’. We would love to see her in a dress next week!
The results show saw MK1 and Kye Sones go head to head – a tense time for Gary Barlow who has seen half of his acts voted out by the public in the first two shows. It went to Deadlock for a frankly silly third week in a row, and fortunately for Mr Barlow, this time was the turn of Louis’ group MK1 to go. We thought they did quite well this week and of course we’re sad we never got to see Charlie’s hair come out from under that hat!
