Hair Inspiration from the British Fashion Awards

The British Fashion Awards are the perfect night for spying homegrown style kings and queens in all their finery. Gracing the red carpet for the prestigious night are Brit stars who are movers, shakers and lovers of the fashion world from designers to pop idols. While many agonise over the choices of frocks and suits, we were on the look out for that best of accessories – the hair. And we weren’t disappointed.

Fashion darling Sienna Miller has made her signature style one that’s envied by many, with a retro chic that’s set off by her undone 60s influenced hairstyles. She grabbed our attention this weekend for her colour as she debuted a brand new shade, or should we say shades. She added a variety of gorgeous peach and rose gold tones to her blonde, giving it a gorgeous Winter warmth and a fashion-forward feel that’s still truly elegant.

Another fan of casual and undone styling, Alexa Chung has recently spoken about wanting to move away from the hairstyle that helped her make her name. She left ‘The Alexa’ at home on the night of the awards, instead opting for sleek retro waves and curls. We love this 40s-influenced look on her, adding an expensive chic to her whole ensemble that’s understated but head turning.

Shahnaz from The Edge loved Kelly Brook’s big volume curls – “This style is really glamorous, but Kelly hasn’t over done it, proving that there’s a way for women of every age to wear this big hair with style. She’s really balanced out her curvier figure with her high volume, a great tip for girls who love a figure-hugging ensemble.”

Our final favourite was Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s slicked back, no-parting style that’s taken straight from this year’s couture catwalks. With her whole ensemble giving a modern twist on 80s power dressing, this edgy but feminine style is the perfect accompaniment. Sweeping back from the face, she pairs overtly feminine red lips with a slightly androgynous way of wearing long straight locks, to stunning effect.
