The Edge

What’s your proudest achievement in your career so far?

My proudest achievement to date has to be working as part of a session team at London Fashion Week, working alongside top stylists in the industry including Eugene Souleiman, Wella’s Global Creative Director and getting involved in exciting photo shoots and campaigns.

What do you think makes Regis stand out in the hairdressing world?

What I love about Regis is the focus on the guest. Every guest who visits a salon is considered to be special and is treated as such. We also have the most Master Colour Experts and skilled stylists plus fantastic relationships with top brands which creates not only great opportunities for Regis stylists but also means guests will get the best possible services, techniques and products every time.

What excites you most about being Regis’ UK Creative Director?

The chance to grow and develop an artistic team to demonstrate just how creative and skilled we are at Regis. I’m keen to channel a positive new direction for us that really captures our stylists’ talent, creativity and passion for hairdressing as well as pushing and challenging myself to get the best out of our creative opportunities.

What are your creative aspirations for Regis?

I want to grow a talented army of skilled, professional stylists that can reflect where Regis is creatively and showcase our talent and dedication to the industry. I want us to be recognised as creative leaders both nationally and globally, entering and winning prestigious industry awards for our work.

As a stylist, what are you most passionate about?

For me you can’t beat creating the perfect cut to suit a guest’s face shape, hair type and personality. The feeling you get from making someone look and feel incredible is just amazing. I’m also passionate about maintaining consistently high standards in my work – you can say so much with the right cut and colour and any image I create and the message it sends is a great way for me to express myself through hair.

Name some of your personal fashion and style inspirations

I’m inspired by many things, I think you can find ideas in almost anything. From fashion and architecture right down to a quirky fabric print, there are so many things I find inspiring. It’s all about the reaction that a place or object provokes in me so I try not to restrict myself!

If you could give one piece of advice to new guests, what would it be?

Your hair is your ultimate accessory. It’s the finishing touch to the perfect outfit and can really impact how you feel so it’s important to give your style and colour some real thought. I think we all benefit from trying different trends, shapes and colours to find our perfect look so try not to be too scared about trying something new.
