WHAT IS FULL HEAD COLOUR?

A full head of colour is where one colour is applied all over the head from roots to tips, using permanent colour to cover grey and lift virgin hair by up to 3 levels or semi-permanent to change depth, tone and add shine to your hair.  Permanent colour requires higher maintenance and upkeep compared to a Semi-Permanent or a Gloss where regrowth is less noticeable. Whether it’s brunette, red, blonde or if you’re after a statement making fashion colour, our stylists can recommend a shade that is perfect for you.

Our stylists often get asked about the effects and potential damage hair colouring can cause, as well as asking about the possibility of less-damaging alternatives. The fact is, alternative or DIY hair colouring techniques will never give you the salon-quality results you’re after, and besides the high risk of damage that can be caused with box dyes, the colour also won’t last as long.

Two of our most popular colour services are all over colour and highlights. Both are great options for livening up your locks and adding interest to your style. But how do you decide which one to choose? You might even want to do both when you want to change your natural base colour as well as add some lighter focal areas. This is a sensible choice if you have naturally dark hair and you want to lift this, either subtly or drastically, to reduce the contrast between your all over colour and your lighter sections, resulting in an overall brighter and lighter looking colour.

Alternatively, if you’re not looking to go lighter,, you could opt for an all over colour using a single-process to add depth and shine with a warm shade of coppery red or auburn brown, for instance.  When it comes to full head colour, the options are wide-ranging so bringing in photos of hair colours that you like (and don’t like) will help inform your stylist of your desired look.

Book a free consultation before your appointment to get your skin test (at least 48 hours before your appointment) and get advice from our stylists will also be able to pick a colour for you that best suits your skin tone and eye colour.
